“I looked, and lo, the fruitful land was a desert, and all its cities were laid in ruins before the Lord, before his fierce anger.” – Jeremiah 4:26

All things beautiful have been destroyed. The land, the cities, all gone. Everything the Babylonians have loved and served has been demolished by God’s anger.
We’ve all been the Babylonians. We turn to earthly things and humans to bring us peace and worth. It’s almost funny how clear sometimes it is that God is taking away those things to reset our mindsets, almost forcing us to reorient ourselves to His way of living, loving, and serving.
What is God destroying in your life today? How is God setting you up for new greatness along God’s path? How is God’s anger changing how you live as a beloved child of God today?
Lord, take away the things that we use to serve ourselves rather than You. Destroy what needs to be destroyed to strengthen our hearts in Your love. Amen.
